Sports Massage

What Is Sports Massage?

Sports massage is a deep tissue treatment designed to reduce muscle tension, ease pain, improve movement, and support recovery — whether from training, work, stress, or everyday life.

Using targeted pressure and techniques, treatment focuses on problem areas such as:

Back pain, Neck & shoulder tension, Tight hips & legs, Posture-related aches, Training sorenes, Headaches caused by tension and Injury recovery

Every treatment is tailored to your body and your needs.

Who Is It For?

Not just for athletes. Sports massage is ideal for:

Gym-goers & runners, office workers, manual workers, anyone feeling tight, stiff, sore, or stressed.

Which Treatment Is Best For Me?

30 Minutes – Perfect for one problem area such as neck & shoulders, lower back, or legs.

60 Minutes (Most popular) – Ideal for a deeper, more focused treatment on ongoing tension or pain.

90 Minutes – A full body treatment designed to target multiple areas and leave you feeling fully restored.

Find out more...

Adding heat to a massage changes both the physical effects on your body and the overall experience. Heat is commonly used in modalities like hot stone massage and heated bamboo massage.

What does it do?

Muscle relaxation: Heat increases blood flow and helps muscles loosen more quickly. That can make tight areas feel less resistant and may let the therapist work deeper with less discomfort.

Reduced stiffness: Warm tissues become more pliable, so heat can help with neck and shoulder tightness, lower back stiffness, general post-exercise soreness and mild joint stiffness

Pain relief: Heat can temporarily reduce pain signals and relax muscle guarding. Some people find heated massage especially helpful for tension headaches or chronic muscle tension.

Increased circulation: Warmth causes blood vessels to dilate, which can improve circulation in the treated area. That may help tissues feel less “constricted” and contribute to a sense of recovery.

Nervous system calming: Heat often enhances the calming side of massage. Many people feel more deeply relaxed or sleepy afterward because warmth can shift the body toward a more parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) state.

My journey into sports massage began through my lifelong passion for sport and helping others. Growing up, I was heavily involved in Judo, Swimming, and Football, and it was through football that I first developed a real interest in sporting injuries and rehabilitation. While playing for Christchurch Ladies FC, I completed the FIFA 1st 4 Sport Treatment and Management of Injuries in Football qualification, sparking my curiosity about how the body works and recovers.

After 6th Form I trained at the AECC to become a Chiropractor but found this wasn't the path I was meant to be on and in 2019, I gained my Level 3 Sports Massage qualification and began my journey as a Sports Massage Therapist, then in 2022, I completed my Level 4 qualification.

Every treatment I provide is tailored to the individual, designed to support both physical recovery and overall wellbeing. Beginning with calming the nervous system, helping the body relax so treatment can be as effective as possible.

Whether you’re dealing with tight neck and shoulders from desk work, back pain from manual labour, recovering from injury, training for a special event, or simply in need of a calming reset, my treatments are designed around you and your needs.

My goal is simple — to help you move better, feel stronger, and support your body in the way it needs most.

I went to see Lucy this week oh my goodness, lucy was patient, kind and most of all her massage skills are amazing! For me my shoulders are my problem area, Lucy found every knot possible using a mixture of sports massage and hot stones. I have Fibromyalgia and Connective Tissue disease, Lucy used very gentle pressure to work the knots out and relax my muscles. I can’t recommend her enough!
